A Message from Jacques

I love Business, especially the fact that we are a SMB with a Team focused on the same projects and goals, for me this is everything.

Originally from the Pyrénées Audoises near Limoux, my childhood area enabled me to appreciate the simplicity of things and the reward for hard work.

After studying in computer engineering, I had the opportunity to travel to various countries for my business and created my own business in Geneva which rapidly grew over Switzerland (Bâle & Zurich).

I sold my company in the year 2000 and decided to return to my childhood roots.
With my interest for wine, territorial roots, enthusiasm to grow a small company and my exporting experience, I made the decision to buy a small winery that already created sparkling wines, of course I am talking about Domaine J.Laurens.

 There was a big task ahead and lots of learning too. A new challenge for myself during my retirement years and I was not disappointed!

Confronting the reality of the hard work for a winegrower, facing the hazards of weather and climate changes, grasping modern technology all while keeping the traditional limoux method, the strict AOC rules to follow, developing the export market with its specific demands per country, making the correct investments and a strict day to day management are amongst some off the many challenges I have had to face.

Thanks to a cohesive team who are motivated and committed, a team which has grown alongside the growth of J. Laurens, I have had the pleasure in making J. Laurens a brand off high quality sparkling wines.

Together we will continue to produce fine and elegant wines, while also improving year after year as we have always done.

Our next goal, which is not a small one, is to become organic. We are just at the start off our organic conversion; however, I am excited to work hard to provide a cleaner environment for the next generation.

Office

At the office, you will also found Lizzie Riley, with us since 2021. She will welcome you at our tasting cellar with her lovely British accent and her  good mood always.

Jacques decided in 2002 to come home and invest his time in the development of J. Laurens. He manages the estate and his small team with enthusiasm and rigor to offer you quality wines and services.

SYLVIE LACUBE

Girl, granddaughter, great-granddaughter … from a generation of “Blanquetiers”, she fell into it when she was little! After living abroad for several years while specializing in marketing and communication Sylvie arrived at the estate in early 2008 to serve the bubbles of J. Laurens. Always available to help you with your orders or for all your special requests, in French, English or even Spanish, she manages sales in France and for export.

CORINNE DELQUIE

Corinne joined the team during Summer 2014. Her experience in Asia and her level of English are real assets for sales support and reception. She also takes care of invoicing and all the back office. She is your first link when you call us and will be able to help you in all circumstances.

BENOIT MANCHON

After more than 15 years of experience in the wine sector, Benoit joined us in October 2017 as Purchasing and Logistics Manager at Domaine J. Laurens. He brings us his rigor and professionalism in daily management: production schedules, investments and more generally in the overall organization. The main goal is to maintain and strengthen the final quality of our wines while devoting themselves to the development of the Domaine.

Production / Vineyard

Alica Romera and Sylvain Duarte are also part of the team for many years now, doing a great job.
Among others employees wich are all very
committed to J.Laurens. Time to time we need help from seasonal employees for harvest mainly but also for some work on the vines and sometimes for bottling.

HENRI ALBRUS

Trained in viti-oeno, Henri made his debut in a House of Blanquette with a solid reputation in Limoux, he then joined the J. Laurens estate in 2000 where Michel Dervin gave him more Champagne experience in the development of wines. sparkling wines (rigor, method, finesse). On the strength of these two experiences, Henri has been able to continue to give our wines a very characteristic personality. Each year, he is responsible for mastering each of the stages in the development of our cuvées: from the picking to the final tasting.

CAROLE PETIT

Carole is now in production where she takes care of both disgorging and labeling, as well as order preparation, label stock tracking and other dry materials. Versatile and available, her liveliness is essential for the proper functioning of the “production”.

PASCAL GIRO

Since 2020, Pascal, our Head of Culture, pampers each vine, with the help of our season workers of course. The domain is now HVE (High Environmental Value) and the future will be about maximum protection for our environment. A big challenge for Pascal & Domaine J.Laurens!
